This policy explains how we collect personal information through the website. It is written in plain language. It is separate from our terms of use and from our governance rules.

The person who exercises the highest authority in the company holds this role, unless they delegate all or part of it in writing to a member of the personnel.

We collect only the information needed for the purpose we tell you about.

Contact form. We collect your name, email, and message so we can reply. Company, phone, and the service you select are optional. If you leave out the required fields, we cannot answer. You give us this information by typing it into the form. We read it in order to respond.

Marketing, only if you check the box. We then use your name and email to send occasional messages about our services. You can submit the form without checking the box. A marketing email names 514IT Consulting Solutions Inc., includes our mailing address, and includes a way to unsubscribe.

Email and phone. If you write or call us, we keep what you send so we can respond and, if you become a client, so we can carry out the work.

We do not ask for payment card numbers, social insurance numbers, or health information through this site. Please do not put that kind of information in the form. If you send sensitive information anyway, we use it only to handle that message, and we treat the sending as express consent limited to that purpose.

This site is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information about anyone under 14. The consent of a parent or guardian is required before we collect a child’s information, except where the law allows collection that is clearly for the child’s benefit.

Consent has to be clear, free, informed, and given for a stated purpose. We ask separately for an optional purpose. We do not pre-check optional boxes. Before you choose, analytics and advertising stay off.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not undo a message we already sent, and it does not erase a record the law requires us to keep.

• Use Cookie preferences in the footer to turn off analytics or advertising.
• Email [email protected] to stop marketing, or to tell us to stop using an inquiry.

If you withdraw consent for an inquiry, we stop using it to contact you, except for a record a law tells us to keep.

Profiling means collecting and using personal information to assess characteristics of a person, including their interests or behaviour. Tools that can identify a visit, locate it approximately, or profile it are off when you arrive. You turn them on in the banner. You can turn them off later from Cookie preferences in the footer. Refusing them does not block the site.

• Necessary. A language cookie named NEXT_LOCALE remembers English or French. It does not profile you. The site needs it, so it stays on.
• Analytics, off until you accept. Vercel Web Analytics records pages viewed, a general location such as country or region, device type, and the referring site, so we can see which pages are useful. The provider is Vercel Inc.
• Advertising, off until you accept. A Google Ads tag (AW-18408989182) can identify a browser and measure ad clicks and conversions. That is a form of profiling. The provider is Google LLC.

If you refuse analytics, we do not use those audience statistics for your visit. If you refuse advertising, we do not measure your visit for ads. Turning a tool off reloads the page so a script that already started is stopped. A copy a provider already stored is handled under that provider’s own tools. You can ask us for help.

Only people who need the information for the purpose you were told about can see it: the person in charge, and the staff or contractors assigned to your request or file. They use it only for that work.

We do not sell personal information.

These providers may process information outside Quebec:

• Vercel Inc., for hosting the website and, only if you accept, for analytics. Processing may take place in the United States.
• Google LLC, only if you accept advertising measurement. Processing may take place in the United States and in other countries where Google operates.

Quebec law requires a privacy impact assessment, and a written contract, before personal information is communicated outside Quebec. The contract has to limit use to the agreed purposes and require adequate protection, generally under recognized privacy principles. Hosting this website is that kind of communication. Analytics and advertising are not activated unless you accept them. The assessments and contracts are company records. You can ask the person in charge which assessment covers your information.

• Inquiries, including the contact form: up to 24 months after our last exchange. We then delete them or anonymize them, unless a contract or a law requires longer.
• Client and accounting records: for the period tax law requires, generally six years after the year they relate to.
• Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe. We then keep only the fact that you unsubscribed, so we do not email you again.
• Cookie choices: a cookie on your device for six months. After that, we ask again.
• Analytics and advertising data: only after you opt in, and then under the provider’s retention schedule.

When the purpose is met, we destroy the information or anonymize it, unless a law tells us to keep it.

You can ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and to give you access to it
• correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or ambiguous
• receive, in a structured and commonly used technological format, computerized personal information that you gave us
• stop disseminating information, or de-index a hyperlink, when Quebec law allows it because dissemination is unlawful or causes serious injury to your reputation or privacy that is greater than the interest of the public in knowing the information
• withdraw consent, as described above

We answer access and correction requests in writing within 30 days. Access is free, unless the law allows a reasonable charge for transcription, reproduction, or transmission. If a charge could apply, we tell you before we proceed. If we refuse, we explain why and how to contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

We may ask for information to confirm that you are the person the file is about, or that you are allowed to act for them. Send requests to the person in charge, at the contact above.

We do not make a decision about you based exclusively on automated processing.

We protect information with HTTPS, with access limited to people who need it, and with a hosting provider that controls access to its systems. No method of sending information over the Internet is perfectly secure.

Write to the person in charge first. We acknowledge the complaint, look into it, and reply. The steps are also described in our governance rules.

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec: cai.gouv.qc.ca.

If we change this policy, we post the new version on this page and update the date. If we have your contact details and the change affects how we use your information, we notify you.
